Today I’m talking about the BEST part of our wedding experience—the wedding itself! A couple of weeks ago I shared Part 1 of our wedding (which you can find here) that covered some of the events leading up to the wedding!
Hudson and I had been looking forward to this day for SO LONG. Part of me was shocked by how quickly our engagement season went by, but the other part of me was going crazy at how long time seemed to drag before we could finally just be married already! I had a lot of fun planning our wedding, but by the time we reached the final month of planning, I was pretty done and just wanted the day to finally arrive so that Hudson and I could just get onto the marriage (because the MARRIAGE is what the wedding should be all about!).
But, planning the wedding really was a lot of fun, and I loved getting to take all I’ve learned and seen from shooting weddings! I truly think our wedding was absolutely PERFECT, and it was better than I could’ve imagined!
My favorite part was the ceremony, hands down. The parents and grandparents walked down the aisle to “Come Thou Fount” and the wedding party walked to “How Deep the Father’s Love”—two of my all-time favorite hymns played on the harp. Then when the doors opened to the chapel and my dad and I started walking down the aisle, I was just so overwhelmed by the beauty and love surrounding me. My maid of honor Liz described it perfectly when she said it felt “like we were walking straight into heaven.” I have no doubt in my mind that the Lord was with us there in that chapel as we became husband and wife.
Oh, and Hudson cried when I walked down the aisle 🙂
I don’t know how else to describe our wedding other than it was perfect. Now onto the photos so you can see for yourself!!! To begin, here’s a horribly unattractive photo of myself and my beautiful bridesmaids as we hit the Chick Fil A drive through on our way to the venue! Our amazing team of hair and makeup stylists finished up with the bridesmaids EARLY (which is nearly unheard of and SO INCREDIBLE!) so we had time to spare! And don’t worry, I was getting my hair and makeup done once we got to the venue so those frizzy baby hairs did not stay like that all day 😉
