Knowing which tools, subscriptions, and resources to invest in as a small business owner is so difficult. There are so many options out there to choose from, and finding the right program to fit your needs can seem impossible sometimes! This week I’m sharing a curated list of my favorite resources I use to run […]

These two are just the CUTEST!! They were both so bubbly and fun during their engagement shoot, despite the fact that it was freezing cold and super windy! We’d already had to reschedule their shoot from a week earlier due to rain, and I was so nervous when I saw it was still supposed to be cloudy + potentially rainy for their second date! But Amanda and Andre were total troopers and didn’t let the weather get in the way!

If you’re reading this post, then you’ve probably already seen the updated website design! I’m so excited about it and think it’s the perfect compliment to some of the exciting new things that are in store for my business. I’m a big believer in lifelong education, plus I miss learning new things now that I’m done with school! I recently enrolled in a new marketing course that explained in-depth how to go about finding our ideal couples we want to work with and speaking directly to them. It’s a concept I’ve heard about from so many different educators, but truthfully, I’d never sat down and defined who my ideal brides are.

Yesterday I met up with Sarah & Alan Michael for their engagement session in Waco, and we had SO much fun!! Sarah was in the house party at Emilee & Connor’s wedding this past December which was how we initially met! But the more we started talking, the more we realized how many crazy things we had in common! Just one of those things is that we found out that she and her roommates were the ones who took over the apartment I lived in my sophomore year at Baylor, and she lived in the same room as me!! So crazy!! We also discovered we have several mutual friends and are both dog moms! I just love discovering so many little things I have in common with my couples! Sarah and Alan Michael have one of the coolest & sweetest love stories I have EVER heard! They met in Dubai on a church-planting mission trip a few years ago!! How cool is that?! These two were just the sweetest and their love for the Lord was so evident even in the short time we spent together during their shoot. I have a feeling their wedding in May is going to be one of my highlights of 2020!!

I’ve said it so many times and I’ll say it again—I LOVE MY JOB! I got to spend the afternoon shooting engagement photos at one of my favorite venues for the SWEETEST couple! Getting to spend time with my couples before the wedding day is something I truly treasure, and when we get to make some GORGEOUS images during our time together, it’s even better! Amanda and Ryan met through work and totally hit it off! When Amanda was inside changing into her next outfit, Ryan was telling me about how he proposed to her. He gave her three different options for places they could go on vacation, and he had a plan for how he’d propose to her for each option! No matter where she chose, it was going to be amazing! Amanda chose to visit Savannah, and Ryan proposed during the trip (and Amanda was totally surprised!!). Aside from the amazing venue and even more amazing couple, these two totally came prepared with their outfits and props!! They look so classic and elegant, and even brought a bottle of champagne to pop! And just you wait until you see one of the other outfits Amanda brought… it is STUNNING!!! These two look like they’re straight out of a Ralph Lauren ad!

I feel like I’m just now getting caught up on blogging so many of my sessions and weddings from the past couple of months! The past two weeks or so have been slower which I am SO grateful for, and I took a much-needed break from showing up on the Internet and social media as much as I normally do! Things are about to get crazy again this week with two weddings & three engagement sessions, but I feel much more energized and ready to handle all the coming work now!

These photos are several months old by now, but I just realized I never shared them on the blog! Back in October, Andy reached out to me to see if I’d be available to shoot photos of his proposal to Liz. I wasn’t initially available, but I moved around my schedule to make it work because Liz has been one of my best friends for like 8 years now (she was also one of my maids-of-honor)!! My other maid-of-honor and fellow bff of Liz’s, Rikki, met me in Dallas and we made the 3 hour drive to College Station! Andy had planned the whole proposal and all we had to do was hide in the leaves and wait for them to arrive!

2019 was so good to me. There were some tough and scary seasons (but what year doesn’t have those?), but 2019 was filled with so much joy, purpose, and excitement. This past year was full of huge life changes and milestone moments. I graduated from college, moved to Dallas, went full time with my business, went to Iceland, planned our wedding, and got married! As some of you know, I struggle with anxiety and I half expected to have to deal with that a lot this year with all the big changes, but by the grace of God, I didn’t! Normally, when the end of the year comes, I focus more on what lies ahead in the following 365 days rather than what just happened. But this year was different. I think for the first time in a long time, I slowed down and took a second to appreciate and give thanks for all the blessings God brought in 2019.
